Just Because (Nutcracker Buck’s Christmas Song)

Snow falling, Christmas Eve
Elves are loading up the sleigh
It’s almost time for me to fly
Tomorrow’s Christmas day

Rudolph’s heading up the team
The moon is full and high
Tomorrow’s Christmas day
Tonight I’m gonna fly

This is the night I sail over the earth
To each rooftop and chimney below
While all the children lie asleep in their beds
From Havana to Buffalo
It’s a strange, strange occupation
It defies all natural laws
But I do it . . . just because

It gets lonesome at the old North Pole
A night can last half a year, it seems
I do so look forward to seeing you, my dears
If only in your dreams

Some say I don’t exist
Some say the same thing about you, too
But tonight I’m gonna fly
Tonight I believe in you

This is the night I sail over the earth
To each rooftop and chimney below
While all the children lie asleep in their beds
From Houston to El Paso
It’s a strange, strange occupation
It defies all natural laws
And I love you . . . just because
