I’ve been on this tractor all day, plowing sunup, plowing sundown
I’ve been on this tractor all day, not so much fun, plowing never be done
Mama won’t you tell me where’s the end of the line?
Mama won’t you tell me that your baby is fine?

I’ve been on this tractor all day, tractor don’t know where the time does go (it goes into the sky)
I’ve been on this tractor all day, into the night, something ain’t right (that’s why I hold on tight)
Fenceline to fenceline and turn, turn and turn again
Sunshine to moonshine, straight up and it’s noontime. . . .
Burn and burn and burn again

I’ve been on this tractor all day, plowing this field, plowing this field, plowing my life (nobody told me twice)
I’ve been on this tractor all day, plowing the sun, plowing never be done
Mama, did we get there yet?
Sky don’t remember, dirt don’t ever forget
